Home Visiting

By volunteering just a few hours each week, you can transform the lives of young children and their parents in your local community.

No qualifications are necessary to become a volunteer with Home-Start however most of our volunteers are parents or grandparents.  Full training will be provided and all volunteers will undergo an enhanced PVG check.  For more information on the PVG scheme, please click here.

If you have an interest in, or experience of supporting young children and family life, we would love to hear from you.

Home Visiting Volunteers would work with families on a one-to -one basis in their own homes to support family life and challenges.

Volunteer Testimonials

"I learnt about Home-Start through another volunteer.  Having lived abroad with two young kids, I'm only too aware how hard parenting can be without a strong community and support system around you.  Home-Start helps to provide and build some of that community and support and I wanted to be part of giving some of that."                                                                                                                                                                                                                                               Jo, Home-Start Volunteer

"Volunteering for Home-Start has given me a sense of achievement when I'm helping someone else.  It's such a valuable service that help in what may seem like small ways but has a big impact on the families they support."                                                                                                                              Belinda, Homecloud-Start Volunteer

"One of the most rewarding roles I've had.  Helping others is such a selfless thing to do and it doesn't go unnoticed when you see how much you can improve the lives of families even by just giving them your time and patience"                                              Jenna, Home-Start Volunteer
